Commissioned by the Utrechts Studenten Gregoriaans Koor for performance as part of a festival in Utrecht, Netherlands in November 1995, to celebrate the 1300th anniversary of the consecration in the year 695 of Willibrord as the first Archbishop of Holland. First performed in the Domkerk, Utrecht by the USGK conducted by Jan Bogaarts.
